The IT Infrastructure module enables comprehensive tracking of hardware infrastructure including servers, network devices, endpoints, and other physical IT assets.

Creating an IT Infrastructure Asset

To register new infrastructure:

  1. Navigate to Asset - IT Infrastructure
  2. Click Add IT Infrastructure
  3. Fill in asset details:
    • Asset ID - Unique identifier
    • Name - Asset name
    • Type - Infrastructure type
    • Manufacturer - Hardware manufacturer
    • Model - Model number
    • Serial Number - Serial/service tag
    • IP Address - Network address
    • OS/Firmware - Operating system or firmware
    • Location - Physical location
    • Department - Responsible department
  4. Click Submit

 

Infrastructure Types

Categorize infrastructure:

  • Server - Physical and virtual servers
  • Network Device - Routers, switches, firewalls
  • Storage - SAN, NAS, storage arrays
  • Endpoint - Workstations, laptops
  • Security Appliance - IDS/IPS, WAF
  • Communication - VoIP, video conferencing

 

Asset Detail Page

The detail page includes:

  • Basic Information - Name, type, description, status
  • Ownership and Location - Department, location
  • Technical Details - Manufacturer, model, serial number
  • Financial and Dates - Value, purchase date, warranty expiry
  • Control Tab - Risk and security controls

 

Control Tab

Manage infrastructure controls:

  1. Navigate to Control tab
  2. Add Risk Controls - Controls to mitigate risks
  3. Add Security Controls - Security measures in place
  4. Document control status and effectiveness

 

Financial Tracking

Track financial information:

  • Purchase Value - Asset cost
  • Purchase Date - When acquired
  • Warranty Expiry - Warranty end date
  • Depreciation - Asset depreciation tracking

  • Keep serial numbers and asset tags updated
  • Track warranty and maintenance schedules
  • Document network configurations
